Sexual Laws, Sexual Norms and
its Effect on Indian Society
These laws are upheld in accordance with public consensus, thus relying on government intervention to control, implement and punish offenders appropriately. Sex policies are designed for protection. They are not designed to stop children or under age teens from having sex with each other, but to protect them from exploitation. The government has determined that a specific age must be set, limiting sexual contact between certain generations and age groups. This is to prevent podophiles' from having relationships that can potentially damage a young person's future. A pedophile is a person over the legal age of consent who has had sexual contact with someone who isn’t. The “term” is very broad; a pedophile can be considered a 19 year old who is in a sexual relationship or had sexual contact with a person who is 17...
